Diana “Dilee,” is a cross-media artist turned fashion designer and manufacturer. She couldn’t find the types of garments she’d like to wear anywhere around the globe. So she started creating them with the intention of sharing them with the world. She needed comfortable yet simplistic and elegant attire that could travel easily with low maintenance and able to be washed at home. Being plant based since birth, Diana experimented on her own clothing line with plant based soap to wash the delicate sequin garments and eventually created plant dyed natural fiber garments to be closer to Mother Nature.
Residing in Los Angeles, California, with her husband, she quickly found experts in each field that wanted to work together and Dilee, Inc., was born. The corporation has created the brand One Essence (by Dilee) which is branching out to provide plant dyed garments for kids coming soon and even items like plant dyed kitchen towels. The men’s capsule collection, DiNucci, is named after her maiden birth name.
Having a mixed lineage (50% broadly Southern European, 50% southeast Asian including Native American ancestry) fostered a strong desire to bring cultures together in an atmosphere of positivity and spirituality. Dilee dedicates all of her art including fashion and music “to the Divine.” “Devotion to our Creator, to me, means embracing and giving the magic of kindness to every living thing as a particle of the all,” says Dilee, “and I believe each one of us is inter-connected, which is why her first T-shirts and sweatshirts were emblazoned with ‘The love in you is the same in me’.”
